Lolita Hershberger, Birth Doula
Hi, I'm Lolita. I'm a certified birth doula and I would love to be a part of your birth journey. I will do my best to advocate for and assist you in having the birth experience you want and deserve. Every baby is a God-given miracle and it is an honor to support and participate in the miracle of birth.

I offer two prenatal appointments where we can get acquainted and talk about your birth plan. We will talk about any concerns you may have. I will be available by phone to answer any questions you may have in the weeks preceding your birth.

I care deeply about helping to facilitate a peaceful birth experience for you. I would love to sit with you and talk about your dreams and desires for your birth experience.

About Lolita
As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a midwife, but God led me on a different path, marrying my wonderful husband in 1998 and moving to Poland two years later where we were missionaries for 21 years. We moved to GA in January 2023. Poland will always feel like home to us and our five children, but by God's grace, we are finding our place here.
​
While in Poland, I was immensely honored to be an unofficial birth and postpartum doula for several of my dear friends, and thus, my new dream was born. God has been opening doors and leading me in that direction, and I'm excited to follow Him and see where this path leads me next.

I love good books, classical music, and impressionist art. Exploring new (to me) countries and experiencing new cultures, languages, and food bring me great joy. Sitting on the front porch with my Bible and a cup of coffee is the best way to start the day. A perfect vacation is a beach vacation and an ideal evening is one spent with my wonderful husband and five amazing children.

Services
Home Visits
I offer 2 home visits around weeks 34-36. These are times for us to get acquainted and for me to hear about your birth plan and your dreams for welcoming your sweet baby. We will discuss pain management and relaxation techniques and comfort tools. I'll do my best to help you make informed decisions and help you prepare for birth.

I've supported women both in home and hospital births and I will support and advocate for the choices you make. Every birth is a miracle, and I'm excited to be a part of your birth journey.

To put it simply, Lolita was an absolute gift from the Lord! She has a very quiet, calming and comforting presence that puts you at ease, makes you feel comfortable and like you’ve known her your whole life. She has a very kind spirit, and that very much shines through her work. She was so sensitive to when I needed encouragement spoken to me, and when I needed quiet support. She was knowledgeable with trying different positions to labor in and knew when to suggest them. She also spent hours doing some amazing counter pressure and massage. One thing I will never forget, is how she so kindly and willingly did what I would consider one of the least desirable tasks, and that’s holding the puke bucket for me, then disposing of it, rinsing it and making sure it smelled of peppermint oil to help curb the nausea for the next round. If you ask me, that’s love in action! And last, but certainly not least, one of my favorite things about her being my doula, was the prayer support she offered. Having her pray over me while I was in the middle of a hard contraction kept me focused, and I knew that even if she was in the background, I had a prayer warrior lifting me up to our Father for strength, peace and a healthy VBAC delivery. I would 100% recommend her as a doula. Whether this is your first, third or tenth, you will be glad you made the investment. Birth support is so under utilized these days. Lolita is a valuable birth team member and will be there to support you and advocate for you.
